Hi, my name is Robert Houston from Cupar, Fife, Scotland.
I am 70 years old and a relatively new club member (just over 1 year).
I have been collecting mowers, mainly push models for over 40 years (they take up less room!).
My favourite is a 10 blade 16” Ransomes Certes M8. I still cut the grass with this every week. Altogether I have about 100 different mowers in my collection.
The bad news is I have just taken seriously ill with Cancer. Therefore I feel it is a good time to sell a lot of my mowers in the hope they find a good home.
Here are 2 petrol classics that I have restored and for sale right now;
Ransomes Auto Certes 18" MK7A REG. No. DD1403 with a Villiers engine and AMAL Carburettor
It usually starts first time with a little choke (occasionally with a little smoke but nothing serious). A very solid machine although I do not have the wheels for the splined extensions.

Ransomes Marquis 20" 6 blade
This mower had an old style clutch with a 19mm diameter taper fit to the BSA engine. I decided to scrap the old clutch and still using the original chain sprockets installed a new engine to the machine. OK, this is a bit of ‘hybrid’, now but it is now a wonderful working mower and runs so smoothly with an old ATCO clutch which is fantastic.

For Sale: Dennis 30" No. TBC. Engine TBC (no image just yet)
Due to illness I have been unable to restore this machine and have decided to sell the very very heavy Dennis 30" in its current condition.
It is a modern version with a fibre glass grass box. The machine does not start as the magneto requires repairing. Missing is the trailing seat from the original design. Overall a nice restoration project. Open to offers.

Also For Sale: Lawnmower Sharpening Machine
An old style cast iron machine in excellent condition complete with an array of attachments for sharpening sole plates. The reels are sharpened one blade at a time. £600.
