Hi I have picked up a Ajax Mk3 in need of restoration, can any one tell me the differences between the Mk3 and the Mk4 and 5? It will need a cylinder and bottom blade. Are the Mk4 and 5 parts interchangeable?

It may help to have a look at the late Tony Roe's two part article Grassbox 79 & 80. I have Tonys notes, he put in a great deal of effort into researching the Ajax.

You will hopefully find some answers

4 and 5 are .. definitely

I think 3 is also.

 

I've done all 3 and dont remember cylinder or bottom blades any different
