Webb electric mower motor stopped working

After doing a few cuts yesterday this fine old mower stopped. I have tested the feed to the motor (240v) and that's all ok. During the first few cuts the motor was hesitant to start and when it finally gave up I thought it must have been the fuse.

I think the motor has developed a fault. The Motor is a Hoover A.C.Motor to B.S.S. 170/39.

Does anyone have any experience of these motors and can guide me with fault finding and fixing
