J P Brisley - Printer of Stroud
The instructions that came with Edwin Budding's Pepperbox Pistol were printed by John Pierce Brisley of Stroudwater Printing Office in The High Street, Stroud.
Brisley was described as a bookseller, stationer, printer, seller of stamps, and Sun Insurance agent. Later he became a JP.
He printed many books on various subjects from fashion to politics, notably those of the contemporary economist residing at Gatcombe Park, David Ricardo.
