Budding Patent Retailer - William Drury of Liverpool
William Drury of Liverpool was one of the early retailers of the Budding Patent Mower. The first reference to this is a John Ferrabee Advertisement in Gardeners Chronicle dated 19 May 1849.
It may be a coincidence that Drury, as well as being an ironmonger and silversmith, was also a gunsmith: prior to inventing the lawnmower Edwin Budding had been manufacturing "Pepperbox" pistols at Thrupp Mill.
