Rosely, the Arbroath home of James Shanks
Rosely, an early Victorian mansion, was originally built c1845 in the Scottish baronial style. Alexander Shanks Jnr's son, James Shanks made enough money to purchase the house and live there for many years.
James died on the 31 May 1909 and is buried in the Western Cemetery in Arbroath.
