Samuelson Buys Site at Fish Street, Banbury

In the late 1840s James Gardner's works at Fish Street in Banbury was bought by Bernhard Samuelson and became The Britannia Ironworks. The original buildings are now long gone and the site is a retail area. When Samuelson & Co expanded into other factories in Banbury, the original site became known as "The Upper Works."
