Boyds Scythe Advertisement in Gardeners Chronicle

One of several identical advertisements in 1854 for Boyds Scythe advertisement in The Gardeners Chronicle.

James Boyd of Lewisham was a a prolific "inventor" in many spheres.

Some of his lawnmower ideas and features were taken up by Samuelson & Co. of Banbury and incorporated into their "Budding" improved type mowers.
