Three Sites of Britannia Ironworks
This Ordnance Survey map of Banbury from 1880 shows the location of the first Samuelson & Co factory to the South of Fish Street (now George Street) between Britannia Road and Windsor Street. This was previously the works of James Gardner.
There is also a Britannia Ironworks building to the south of Gatteridge Steet, next to the canal, called "the lower works" and further out next to the railway another agricultural Implements factory. At the time this was in the countryside surrounded by land "liable to flooding."
