Ferrabee at Smithfield Show 1862
Ferrabee exhibited lawnmowers as part of their display at the Smithfield Show in December 1862.
Elsewhere on the same page there is mention of an intriguing invention exhibited by a manufacturer from France. This appears to be a small "horse-clipping machine, an exceedingly ingenious adaptation of the principle of the lawnmower to a new purpose - a small hand "lawn mower,!"
Some 32 years after its own invention, the lawnmower had inspired some innovation and application in a totally new area.
Messrs. Ferrabee, of Stroud, show steam engines, chaff cutters, and lawn mowers.
