Description to Plate No. 45:-
From Cairnie a good general view of the town (45) down to the sea is obtained. The foreground of the picture is occupied by the railway and Dens Iron Works. The large building on the hill opposite Cairnie-Guthrie Hill-is the Arbroath and St. Vigeans Combination Poorhouse, which was opened in 1866.
