Graveyard at St. John The Baptist's Church, Pitchcombe
Completely rebuilt in 1819 by William Franklin, the church would be alien to Edwin Budding's ancestors who were broadweavers in the parish during the 18th century. Earlier antiquarians on memorial inscription recordings noted several Budding graves in the churchyard, but these are now illegible. The oldest graves are seen here.
The Buildings of England, Volume 1, Gloucestershire, notes that there are good table tombs, the earliest dated 1656 in Pitchcombe graveyard.
