If it wasn't for all the tourists and the cars through this busy small Cotswold town, Edwin Budding would certainly recognise the majority of buildings. No doubt he travelled the roads to Stroud, Bisley, or Gloucester. These buildings of Jacobean, Georgian, Regency, and "Gothick" architecture built by the wealthy clothiers can be seen opposite St. Mary's Parish Church.
