Site of the Upper Thrupp Mill

A view from behind the current Howard Tenens building on the approximate site where the Upper Thrupp Mill once stood. The Upper Mill was always detached from the main Lower Mill and Phoenix Ironworks and was originally a fulling mill. When John Ferrabee removed the fulling machinery and waterwheels, this may have been where Edwin Budding constructed his Pepperbox Pistols. It is believed that John Ferrabee later used the building as a cowshed.
