Site of Wallbridge Basin
The Stroudwater Navigation ran from the Severn at Framiode, through Wheatenhurst (now Whitminster), Eastington (where Edwin Budding was baptised in 1796), through Stonehouse parish, past Lodgemore Mill (which burnt down and was redesigned by James Ferrabee), to Wallbridge Basin Stroud.
The Basin has long been filled in but the River Frome and main course of the Stroudwater Navigation still flow past. At the time of visiting in July 2026, improvements to the sewage network were underway.
