Ransomes & Sims New Improved
The Ransomes Improved was introduced by Ransomes & Sims in the spring of 1861. It was initially available in 16in and 18in versions, with 14in and 20in versions added a few months later. This was the first lawnmower that Ransomes & Sims produced to their own unique design "made from entirely new patterns."
Only three examples of this model are known to survive. This one has been on display at Milton Keynes Museum for over 40 years.
Ransomes & Sims first own design machine described as "made from entirely new patterns."
For many years this machine has resided at Milton Keynes Museum.
