Sapperton Tunnel Portal

This portal has a simple Georgian "Gothick" style, whereas the Coates Portal at the other end of the tunnel is classical. 

This portal has been restored several times, but the vegetation keeps taking over. Nevertheless Edwin Budding would certainly have recognised it, and may even have been through it on a barge transporting his lawnmowers.
