Ransomes and Sims London Premises at 31 Essex Street

Seen on this map of 1860, Ransomes and Sims London offices were at 31 Essex Street, off the Strand. Behind was (and still is) The Bench Lodgings and directly behind is the Middle Temple Hall. The site now is occupied by modern five-storey apartments. Sheppard Ransome was based here at the time and coordinated London operations.
