The Lindens Brimscombe
The survey of the owners, lessees and occupiers of land along the route of the proposed railway line confirms that John Ferrabee owned this property in 1836.
Now comprising Manor Cottage and The Lindens, this mid-17th century house, with two gables and mullioned windows, has a door keystone dated 1652 in a segment-headed stone arch with imposts and drip-mould.
In 1836 John Ferrabee was renting the house, cottage, stables and Brewhouse to a Joseph Moody. Later on in the 1850s, John's son Henry (who is buried just up the road at Holy Trinity, Brimscombe) was living at Linden Cottage.
