New House, Now Known as Brimscombe Court

Brimscombe Court, known as Newhouse when built, was the former residence of Samuel and Elizabeth Wathen. It can still be seen today, the tall stone house on the extreme right of this photograph, on the hillside overlooking the valley with Thrupp Mill and the Phoenix Ironworks site below.
