Hi, Im new to the Forum and have decided to venture into old Cylinder Mower's, so this would be a good place to start.

Im looking into buying a Suffolk Super Colt 24A that is quite local to me. It looks to be in good condition and would need a clutch cable.

What I'd be interested to know is, is this clutch cable easy enough to hook up and would adjustments be required for best operation?

Also, Im guessing this is true but are these models painted in lead based paint? It's flaked off in places and I don't want to be getting lead flakes peeling off and contaminating the place especially if it gets on my hands unknowingly.

Thanks.

It may well have lead based paint but unless you are licking it, attacking it with a sander or rotary wire brush there is no danger, and even then an ordinary face mask is sufficient.

A new clutch / drive cable is easy to fit and just needs a common sense approach to adjustment to achieve the required amount of belt tension.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I won't be doing any of those things so I should be ok. Just thought I'd get a heads up about it.

Okay that's great. Thanks again.
