Advice re Damaged Hayterette Deck

May I ask for advice re whether there are ways to repair this deck or whether it would be wiser to keep an eye out for a replacement deck? Many thanks, Arthur

The chunk missing in the front of the deck shouldn't propagate further, I wouldn't have thought.

The Hayterette deck was in production for over 30 years unaltered; so you should be able to pick one up, although they were quite prolific as a skip find about 25 years ago.

Realistically, I’d look for a better one. Plenty of Hayterettes in various states of repair on eBay and Face Book etc, and even local sale rooms and collective sales.

Thank you both for your advice, it’s very much appreciated. I have found this forum to be a really brilliant resource in terms of information and inspiration - due in very large part to the regular contributors.
 

The Briggs & Stratton engine model is 92502 and it is dated as 17th Dec 1975.
