Air Filter Material - Suffolk Punch, Zenith Carb

I need to replace the air filter material for the zenith carb on my Suffolk Punch.  The pic shows what was previously fitted.  Is this the standard approach to fold cloth into a square, if so, what specification cloth should I source?

Or, if not, can anyone advise what to use?
