Assembly fail?

Enter a word or two to search the forum section and click the Search Forum button.

I'm now in progress with reassembling my Webb pro 24 and I've got most of the bottom part of the mower together. Before I go on, I wanted to check with some experts if I had got it right so far. I have enclosed a pic of the non drive and where the cylinder goes into the bearing. Something doesn't seem quite right here. Have I missed something as the bearing looks very close to the side panel?

Next pic is the rear roller drive wheel, which also looks very close to the side panel. I have a spacer on the non drive side of this, but the manual didn't show one on this side?

I've followed the manual someone kindly provided on here, but I not sure it contains the whole detail

Hmm the plot thickens on this. Having a look through the bits I find some parts that look like spacers, looks like I missed something?

Difficult to tell from the images but make sure that the bearings are pushed right home in their carriers and then they are fully home onto the cutting cylinder. So long as the bearings remain fully home in the carriers they should remain clear of the chassis side plates. The alloy internally toothed ring gear does run close to ( but not rubbing) the chassis so as to keep out any debris.
Perhaps you can post an image or two of any bits that you have left over or that you suspect are misplaced.  What manual or parts lists are you working from ? Iv’e got an owners manual that was supplied with new machines but it’s a bit thin on detail however I’ll have a look through a couple of workshop parts books that may help with the position of any spacers etc.

Hi wristpin, thank you so much for your help so far. These are the bits I have over. Looking at the parts list one of them may be a spacer between the cylinder cutter and pulley. I'll have to try it.

The cylinder rotates freely so I reckon thats ok?

That’s a bit of a teaser but have a look at the attached and see whether any of the bits belong with the belt tensioning pulley. I seem to remember that the pulley had two “bronze” bushes with a shim at each end to space out the guide plates.
