Atco 24R Clutch Lever

Hi,

Is it possible to replace/swap the single hand clutch lever on an Atco 24 with the bar version? My lever isn't working as it should so rather than replace it like for like, I feel like the bar would be a better upgrade, if possible?

It's an Atco 24 Royale Professional (1988)

I’ve never seen it done, but I don’t see why not providing you can source or even make the necessary parts.

However, you need to bear in mind that there were two versions of the bar clutch. On the first, the bar just mimicked the action of the chrome trigger lever - pull up to disengage and release to drive. The final version was a true OPC ( operator presence control) which had to be held up to engage the drive and released to disengage it. As well as the bar there were changes to the main clutch itself.
