Qualcast Classic 35s problems
Evening,
This forum has been a wealth of knowledge, haven’t managed to track down a solution to the problems I am currently experiencing
Recently picked up a Qualcast Classic 35s, it was a non runner and seen it as a bit of a project! The previous owner had said it had sat for a few years not being used and still had fuel in the tank
Drained the tank and put in fresh fuel along with a new spark plug - no luck!
Pulled the spark plug and couldn’t see/smell any fuel, assumed a blockage within the carb. Took the carb off, not sure what I done but ended up with fuel flowing through the carb. The float switch isn’t working and had a lovely fuel leak through the air filter. Put it back together and tried again, had a ‘puff’ but nothing more than that. Pulled the plug out and it did look wet which is positive! I have ordered a replacement carb to rule that out.
Considering there might not be a spark, The HT lead does look perished and is cracked at the right angle - not sure if I should get a new ignition coil to rule that out ? Is there anything else I’m missing ?
Final issue, at the moment, when taking the engine off the chassis to look at it I had to disconnect the throttle linkage, stupidly I didn’t take any images and I can’t for the life of me put it back together - if anyone has any pictures of the arrangement ? Haven’t been able to see anything online of how the spring is seated
Appreciate anyone’s help as I’d love to get this lawnmower up and running and be useable
I have two of these. one of…
I have two of these. one of which is in weekly use at this time of the year. come the weekend, or if I get time. this lunchtime, I will take some photos showing the cable and linkage arrangement and post them here for you.
And if any one has any idea how on earth i put my Webb / Honda back together as I likewise forgot to take enough photo's - I'd appreciate some help
