My Super Colt 24A is missing a Soleplate Block (L5547 in the original manual), also the bolt and nut for it - described as the Bolt for bottom blade unit

Could any OLC member help out with these spares?

Many Thanks

Unable to reconcile those part numbers with several Super Colt parts books . The Super Colt has what’s called a Unit Bottom blade which replaces the separate sole plate and bottom blade on the original Colt. An image of the machine or the appropriate pages of your parts book may help.

Thanks for your reply Wristpin - I have attached the photos you suggested which I hope might make things a bit clearer?

I look forward to any advice

Thanks

OK

 12” unit bottom blade F016L101495

sole plate block F016L101600

Bolt F016L18021 1/4” unf

Nut F016L21749.  1/4” unf nyloc

If you want to get all in one hit try either

the Gateshead Mower Centre

or Jon Cruse at the Hailsham Mower Centre

or if you’ve got a decent local lawnmower repair shop , give them a try first

Thanks for the useful info Wristpin

I'm a bit unclear as to why I might need to replace the parts you suggest rather than just source the missing soleplate on this Super Colt ?        I'd like to use the existing bottom blade if possible, as it is in good condition.

Also, should I wish to identify and order Suffolk spare parts in the future, can you confirm that the part numbers in the original manual are no longer used? If so I would be interested to learn where you reference your part numbers from...

Many thanks

All’s a question of age and terminology. Along the way the four digit numbers gained a leading zero, then they became six digit numbers and finally the leading F016. Confusion comes from Suffolk’s use of “ sole plate block”  when your machine doesn’t have a sole plate but uses a “unit bottom blade” - their description. Your original post appeared to ask for numbers for the nut and bolt etc and your later post has those parts highlighted, so pick and choose as needed.

If you talk to /  purchase from Jon Cruse, he’s been in the trade long enough that he will probably recognise your old part numbers and help you out.
