TAYLOR-FORBES

Canadian manufacturers established at Guelph, Ontario in 1902. The company took over the factory and foundry of A.R. Woodyatt, the owner of which had died the previous year. Taylor-Forbes was the first manufacturer in Guelph to use hydroelectric power. It continued to grow eventually had branches throughout Canada with agents in several countries around the world. The company undertook many manufacturing contracts during WWI and WWII, making products such as ammunition shells and castings. It ceased trading in 1955, shortly after a change of ownership.
