Development of Leicester Square

The Alhambra Theatre was built c1854 to the left of 28 Leicester Square, the site of the former Museum of National Manufactures where an exhibition in 1834 included Budding's Mower and Budding's Improved Mode of Coupling Machine Bands or Straps.

A later view of 28 Leicester Square provides more detail of the building when it was a musical instrument manufactory.
