I've just found one of these in my late mother's shed.
Is it worth restoring?
Really depends on what you want from it, its not going to gain any significant value by restoration. Also depends on present condition, would it run with just a thorough clean & service, rather than a full rebuild?
The model I assume is the petrol roller one, 34cc Villiers engine & 14" cut introduced 1950's & ceased production in 1964.
I'd like to restore it because mum has kept it all these years & it'd just be nice to hear it running!
It doesn't particularly have a value then?
That is good enough reason to restore it, good to have a bit of history/sentimental attachment. Unfortunately not much value, we see mowers a lot older going for £10/£20!!
Not sure if you have a manual but there one on ebay at present http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANSOMES-SPRITE-MOTOR-MOWER-OPERATING-PARTS-M…
Good luck& if you have any problems post on here & theres always someone to give advice.
