Sorry for being old and daft, but how do you adjust the points on a Villiers 4 stroke, when a black plastic cover is over the points, and the flywheel needs to be on, to get the cam used.

Bit of a fiddle. Rotate the disc in the black cover to fully open  the window. Rotate the flywheel to fully open the points - so long as it’s not been incorrectly fitted, you should get a good view of the open points. Undo the points clamping screw just enough to allow the fixed point to move, then use a flat bladed screw driver between the V and the raids dot to move the fixed point to achieve the desired gap. I’ll try and find something to photograph but maybe someone else can add some.
