Ransomes Certes MK8 handlebar hinges screw assembly
Hello everybody, i'm new to the club and located abroad, near dusseldorf, Germany.
I have recently acquired a Ransomes Certes MK8 missing the mounting screw assembly for the handle. On close inspection i can see that there presumably was a two piece brass plain bearing pressed into one eye of the end-piece of the handle to allow a tilting action for the mower. I have no information whatsoever how that bearing looked like, or if one can still get it as a spare part from the manufacturer.(Silly idea, probably not) Has anyone a picture of this part/assembly? Or even spares? Best regards, Sebastian

Hi Sebastian. Welcome to the club. I have a copy of the operator instructions and parts list for a Certes Mark 12 and have attached a couple of pictures for you in the hope that the parts you are interested in do not differ from the Mark 8 and the Mark 12. I don't know if they did change between the model types so apologies if they did and my photos are of no use to you. Regards. Rob

Hi Rob and thank you for your hint! I could have looked it up earlier, as i do have the booklet, too. But i was following a wrong trace: the remaining bearing/Bushing that was i one of the ends was so carved out by the screw and usage that i thought that there was a part missing. What was missing was material. So now i will have two new bushings made on a lathe to the specifications needed from a guy i know. The limitation screws are still a mistery - i need a spare, as i only have one screw that came with the mower. Can anybody tell me where to find one? Or has the specifications? Regards, Sebastian

The nuts that fit the bolts are 3/8" UF which I'd take as 3/8" UNF or as its an old British machine maybe 3/8" BSF. Both UNF AND BSF fixings are readily available online.

Checking the technical drawing the screw/assembly is named "fulcrum pin" (T). The screws M and nuts are missing, too. Hope somebody can help me here!
