Hi folks, I'm new to the Forums so apologies if i've posted in the wrong place. I'm looking for some advice on the B&S wee genny I purchased off ebay several weeks ago. I'd like to know what the engine model is  so I can possibly source an operators manual for it etc.

It was advertised as virtually unrun and of early '70s vintage. I offered £75 and was delighted when this was accepted. I arranged collection from the chaps home in Edinburgh for the next time id be south as I live north of Aberdeen.

When I finally collected from the chaps house, I was relieved to find that the machine was as described and was told it was purchased by his late father in the 70's during the Winter of Discontent, which I can just about remember, the power cuts anyway, living then, in the Vale of Leven.

His father gad purchased the unit and converted to a fused outlet with double socket for instant use should the power go off in the shop that he owned locally. In the event, it was never used and his father would give it a pull over from time to time and the occasional start over the years, until it refused to start one day, probably due to the eventual suicide of the dinosaur juice!

So, anyway, the engine looks new with a pristine genny attached. It looks very similar to the grey units I used to see on my aunts "Suffolk" mower apart from being orange.

I'd like to find out what model it is, where to find the serial number etc, and possibly how much oil and if 30 weight single grade will do or a multigrade etc. If anyone can advise then thank you.

The Model, Type and Code numbers are probably stamped into the vertical face of the blower blower housing between the governor linkage and the decal with the BS details .
